Electronic Security Systems Technician — New York

Responsibilities: Install, maintain and repair security systems including alarm devices, access control, CCTV and related equipment based on blueprints of electrical layouts and building plans. Test and repair circuits and sensors based on following wiring and system specifications. Demonstrate systems for customers and explain details of the systems to them, such as the causes and consequences of false alarms.

Qualifications:

• A degree in electronics from a technical/trade school or a solid understanding of electronics with related work experience.
• Strong communication skills in order to effectively communicate with co-workers, management and customers.

Duties: This role requires individuals to investigate sources of alarm and trouble signals on subscribers’ premises. Drive radio-equipped car to subscriber’s establishment, and locate source of alarm. Investigate disturbances, such as unlawful intrusion, fires, and property damage. Contacts supervisor by radio or telephone to report irregularities and obtain further instructions. Coordinates activities with police and fire departments during alarms. Writes investigation and automobile usage reports.
