DGA Museum & Archive
DGA has built one of the country’s preeminent collections of historical documents, photographs and antique equipment related to the birth and evolution of the fire and burglar alarm industry.
The archive includes the largest known collection of historical documents related to this area of research, and the DGA Museum is the only known archive actively adding to its collection. In 2002, in cooperation with historians in the discipline, DGA embarked on a concerted campaign to acquire and restore examples of the major advancements in burglar alarm equipment from the mid-19th century. Today the DGA Museum showcases some of the most important innovations in the alarm industry’s rich history.
Although the DGA Museum and Archive is not open to the public, the exhibit is shown by invitation to members of the industry, DGA clients, and accredited historians doing research. The DGA Museum and Archive is a member of the American Association for State and Local History.
